CEO Updates
AN UPDATE FROM OUR CEO
Korrie-Mae Wiszniak
Dear Kids@ Churchill Park Families,
Happy October!
We hope our Kids@ families had a wonderful summer and have now gotten back into the swing of the regular routine of September (…including navigating through increased traffic! I’m not sure why I’m always surprised by all the cars on the road the first week school is back in! It’s the same every September! Lol).
While our Program Management team does such a fantastic job keeping families updated on things happening within their programs, our goal moving forward is to increase communication from the agency as a whole, without increasing your email burden!
In the past, we’ve provided CEO updates. Moving forward we’re changing the name to “AGENCY UPDATES”, and we’ll be sharing these monthly in the parent newsletters. We’re aiming to keep you in the loop with everything “Kids@”, and feel monthly updates and in the newsletters is the best way to do that!
We have several ‘shares’ for our families in this update!

Calgary Flames Discount Specifically for our Kids@ Churchill Park Families.
In conjunction with the Calgary Flames, we’re happy to share an initiative called “Baby’s First Game”. Select Flames games will be free for your little ones 2 years old and younger, and additional tickets for the rest of the family are being offered at a discounted rate. If you’d like to see any additional games, just let us know and we’ll do our best to have them added! Please see graphic below and to purchase tickets, please click the following link : www.flamesgroups.com/baby

Calgary Food Bank
As part of our commitment as a non-profit and charitable organization, we are happy to share that on behalf of the Kids@ Churchill Park community (that means you too, our families), we have donated to the Food Banks “birthday in a bag’ program. The program supports families who would not be in a financial position to host a birthday party for their child. We have provided 5 bags for 5 families each with everything to host a fantastic party, along with a gift for the birthday girl or boy. Thanks so much to Jess and Vivian for purchasing the supplies and putting the bags together! We intend for this to be ongoing – stay tuned!
Environment Assessment and Centre Refresh
You’ll begin to notice, if you haven’t already, that each centre is receiving what we’re calling ‘centre refreshes”. In terms of what this means for each centre, it will vary based on the assessments that have been conducted by our team and are based upon ECE assessment tools. The goal is to have the physical environments for the little ones in our programs, match the quality of care we know they are receiving from our incredibly passionate team. This is our way of honouring both our families and teams! Keep your eyes open and even ask educators to see what’s new in the way of resources, work materials, furniture and updates within your classroom and centre. Some of these are even surprises for the centre teams!
Legacy Planning
May 2020 marks Kids@ Churchill Park’s 50th year proudly serving families and little ones! Our Legacy planning, including participation from our Board of Directors is well underway! Please stay tuned for more information on how we’ll be celebrating this milestone, and how families and children in our programs will be positively impacted and be able to participate in the celebration.

We are incredibly fortunate to have wonderfully engaged and truly special families that we consider part of our larger Kids@ Churchill Park family! Your children are always our number one priority, and we take great pride in creating healthy bodies, curious minds and happy hearts! Thank you for choosing Kids@ Churchill Park!
A most heartfelt thank you on behalf of our entire team,
Korrie-Mae
